My work in linguistics and cognitive science centres on using computational modelling to study language development with a focus on the interaction of input and learning biases. Currently, I am a postdoc in the Department of Medicine at the University of Calgary where I leverage Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing to support epidemiological research on Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis) as well as building interactive web apps in Shiny as part of the Kaplan Lab’s knowledge translation strategy. Additionally, I am a competitive axe thrower, dictionary-collector, and horror movie fan.
